COLUMBUS, August 05, 2009

With competitions, entertainment, art exhibits, great food and much more, the Ohio State Fair offers a wide variety of exciting options for fairgoers. Tomorrow’s events include:



Meijer Day

Meijer customers: Present a “Back-to-School” Falls Creek Jeans proof-of-purchase receipt at a booth outside the entrance gates and receive a $4 admission coupon for each member in your party.



Demi Lovato with special guest Jordan Pruitt

AEP Ohio Concert Series

WCOL Celeste Center, 7 p.m.

Demi Lovato, from Disney Channel’s “Sonny with a Chance” and “Camp Rock,” takes the stage performing her recent smash hits and more. Jordan Pruitt opens the night with music from her two albums “No Ordinary Girl” and “Permission to Fly.”



Watermelon Seed Spitting Competition Judging

DiSalle Creative Arts Center, 11 a.m.

Youth, teens and adults enjoy a slice of watermelon provided by Sodexo while spitting for distance and accuracy. See if anyone can beat the current world record of 68 feet, 9 1/8 inches set in 1989.



NASA Glenn “Journey to Tomorrow”

South of the Cardinal Gate, 11 a.m. – 7 p.m.

Get your chance to soar as you step foot into NASA’s newest traveling exhibit while they celebrate 100 years of powered flight.



The Greg Frisbee Show

NBC4 Family Fun Stage, 2 p.m., 4 p.m., 6 p.m.

See this comedy artist perform juggling, mind reading and more. These exciting feats will have you giving two thumbs up.



Boy Scouts Fun Outdoor Activities

K12/Ohio Virtual Academy Youth Center Lawn, 9 a.m. – 9 p.m.

Take on the monkey bridge and bounce house, along with other fun youth games sponsored by Boy Scouts of America.



Junior Market Turkey & Meat Chicken Shows

The Ohio Farm Bureau proudly supports the junior fair livestock shows

Rabbit & Poultry Pavilion, 9 a.m.

See the judging of these fine birds raised by hardworking junior exhibitors.



Nintendo DSi

East of Rhodes Center, 10 a.m. – 9 p.m.

Come and visit the Nintendo DSi Mobile Tour Experience at the Ohio State Fair and get your hands on the latest in handheld gaming devices from Nintendo. You can take photos and share them with friends, customize sound bites or create your own, download games from Nintendo DSiWare, and try your hand at a variety of popular Nintendo DS game titles. Stop by and see what the Nintendo DSi has to offer.



Gates are open from 9 a.m. – 10 p.m.
