SPORTING COMPETITIONS AT THE 156th OHIO STATE FAIR

There are great sports competitions for everyone at this year’s Ohio State Fair.
This year’s competitions include baton, bench press / dead lift, boxing, cheerleading, corn hole, wrestling, roller derby, USA jump rope and the Fair’s 5K Run & Walk.
The second annual Ohio State Fair 5k Run & Walk presented by the Ohio Physical Therapy Association begins at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 1. The route begins and ends at Crew Stadium, following a path through the Fair. Fair admission, parking, a t-shirt and SkyGlider ticket are given to all participants.
The 42nd annual National Invitational Amateur Boxing Tournament will begin on Wednesday, July 29 and continues until the finals on Saturday, Aug. 1 at 11 a.m. All matches are held at the ShowPlace Pavilion.
The corn hole tournament begins at noon on Sunday, Aug. 2. Teams compete for cash prizes until 7 p.m. After the tournament, fairgoers can play for free until 11 p.m.
Cheerleading competitions will be held in the Buckeye Sports Center on Aug. 8. Beginning at 10 a.m., the competitions feature cheerleading, gymnastics and dance.
