ALL-OHIO STATE FAIR YOUTH CHIOR TO PERFORM AT STATEHOUSE
Choir Perform at Statehouse
COLUMBUS, July 21, 2009
The All-Ohio State Fair Youth Choir will make a special trip to the Ohio Statehouse on Monday, July 27, for a tour of the Capitol followed by a performance on the Statehouse lawn.
The tour will offer the choir the opportunity to expand their knowledge of Ohio’s judicial and political systems. The students also will be introduced to the Capitol Square Foundation and Wal-Mart organizations, who are sponsoring the event.
To show their appreciation, the All-Ohio State Fair Youth Choir will perform on the Statehouse lawn at approximately 11:30 a.m.
This year’s choir, directed by Charles Snyder, consists of Ohio high school students representing 53 counties. The members are selected each spring based on their ability and experience, the recommendation of their high school chorale director, geographical considerations and the consent and support of their parent or guardian. The Ohio State Fair strives to offer these students many positive opportunities and experiences including those that are educational and agricultural, as well as social.
